Use extensions for air lines, screw the jam nut, and then screw the new shift knob on top. If you want to use an extension, you have to unscrew the jam nut also. After that, you can screw off the shift knob from the lever. Take a photo or mark the lines and fittings to make sure that you don’t mix them up later. You just push their ends up with a screwdriver and pull all lines out. They are attached to your shift knob via quick-connect fittings.
